A “free psychic reading” can mean a short introductory session, a credit toward a paid service, an automated card result or a volunteer practice reading. Read the offer’s terms before providing payment details: the word free does not tell you what happens next.

Start by identifying the kind of offer

Free introductory minutes
A limited portion of a session may be free, with a regular rate applying afterward. Check whether the session ends automatically.
Account credit
A balance may apply only to selected readers or formats. Look for expiry dates, minimum deposits and restrictions.
Automated results
A website or app may generate a card interpretation without a human reader. Check how the result is produced and whether follow-up features cost money.
Practice readings
A learner may offer a session in exchange for feedback. Agree on the length, privacy and limits before starting.

Six questions to answer before signing up

  1. Who qualifies, and is the offer limited to first-time customers?
  2. Which readers and communication formats are included?
  3. What is the regular rate after the free portion?
  4. Does entering a card create a subscription or enable automatic charges?
  5. How do you end the session and close the account?
  6. Who can see your messages, and how can you contact support?

If the terms do not answer these questions, pause. A countdown or limited-time banner is not a reason to accept unclear billing. Save the offer and price information you relied on so you can refer to it later.

Choose a question that keeps the decision yours

A brief reading is easier to assess when you bring one reflective question. “What options should I think through?” gives you more room to decide than asking for a guaranteed date when an ex will return. A reading cannot verify another person’s private thoughts or promise a particular future.

Spiritual language can have personal meaning, but it should not turn a relationship into an obligation. Our guide to soul contracts and relationship boundaries explores that distinction.

Protect your privacy and your stopping point

Share only what you are comfortable discussing. Never provide passwords, account access codes or financial credentials to a reader. Avoid posting identifying details about other people. For community-based readings, review our guide to participating in psychic discussion boards.

Set the amount of time and money you are willing to use before starting. If your budget is zero, make sure the free portion can finish without a charge. An unfinished feeling is not a requirement to buy more.

When to leave

Stop if someone threatens harm unless you pay, claims to remove a curse for an escalating fee, guarantees reconciliation, or pressures you to keep the exchange secret. You do not need to prove what caused the pressure before ending a conversation.

If a payment appears fraudulent, contact the payment provider promptly and keep the receipt and messages. The FTC’s guidance after a scam explains steps that depend on how you paid. Recovery is not guaranteed, and someone charging an upfront fee to recover your money may present another risk.
